LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed authorities to reduce the prices of roti following a drop in wheat flour prices across the province.
Maryam Nawaz instructed that the new prices of roti in Punjab be set in line with the revised flour rates. She ordered the Price Control Department to take immediate action to implement the new pricing.
The chief minister also issued strict orders to closely monitor the prices of chicken, vegetables, and pulses.

She expressed concern over rising chicken prices, saying, “Earlier, a poor child could eat chicken once a week. If prices go up, even that one day becomes impossible — I cannot allow this.”
Maryam Nawaz added that her government is committed to bringing roti prices down to historic lows. “The benefit of reduced flour prices must reach the poor directly.
A new price for roti will be fixed in proportion to the flour price cut,” she stated.
