KARACHI: A 2.1 magnitude earthquake struck various parts of Karachi’s Malir district on Thursday once again, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. The epicenter of the tremor was kilometers five kilometres south of Malir.
This earthquake is part of the aftershocks, which the seismological department has predicted for Karachi.
No damage to property or casualties have been reported so far. Karachi is located near several active fault lines, but earthquakes are not a common occurrence for the provincial capital of Sindh. These shocks, even minor jolts, send alarm among citizens.
Authorities have advised citizens to remain calm and stay prepared for potential aftershocks. The Met Office continues to monitor seismic activity in the region.
