Kyunki Saas bhi Kabhi bahu thi makes a comeback

MUMBAI: The iconic Indian television drama Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is making a long-awaited comeback to Star Plus, 17 years after its original run ended.

Star Plus officially confirmed that the reboot of the cult-favorite series will premiere on July 29, with Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay returning as the beloved characters Tulsi and Mihir Virani.

Dropping the first look of Smriti Irani as Tulsi, the makers sent social media into a frenzy, sparking nostalgia among fans who grew up watching the show.

Star Plus posted on Instagram:
“Kya aap abhi bhi vishwaas nahi kar paa rahe? 25 saal ke baad, Tulsi Virani laut rahi hai, ek nayi kahaani ke saath! #KyunkiSaasBhiKabhiBahuThi ek baar phir taiyaar hai har ghar ka hissa bann ne. Kya aap bhi taiyaar ho?”

The reboot, backed by Ekta Kapoor, marks the 25th anniversary of the show, which originally aired from 2000 to 2008. During its initial run, it dominated Indian television ratings for over seven years.

The revived version will be a limited series, expected to run for 150 to 200 episodes, and will retain its original time slot of 10:30 p.m. on Star Plus.
