Babar Azam receives surprise Audi e-Tron GT gift

LAHORE: Pakistan cricket captain and top-ranked ODI batsman Babar Azam has added another Audi car to his collection – the Audi e-Tron GT.

The new addition comes as a surprise gift from his brother Faisal Azam and family following his return from Sri Lanka. Babar, who already owns an Audi A5, received the Audi e-Tron GT after his impressive performance in the Asia Cup 2023 match no.1, where he scored 151 off 131 balls, contributing to Pakistan’s total of 342 runs in the first innings.

“Babar has done so much for us, so we wanted to give him a surprise gift. Hence, we started to look for different cars,” Faisal said while handing him the key.

Meanwhile, Faisal Azam also mentioned that finding the white colour for the same model was a challenge in Pakistan. Valued at approximately PKR 80 million, the Audi e-Tron GT holds a significant place in car collections of Babar Azam.

The sleek design, powerful performance, and advanced technology of the Audi e-Tron GT resonate with Babar’s cricketing prowess and his achievements on the field. Despite the weight of expectations that come with leading the team and its top-ranking status, Babar remains unfazed. He views such recognition as a confidence booster as they prepare for the Asia Cup.

Audi e-tron GT Specifications 

The Audi GT electric car can produce 470 horsepower and has 630Nm of torque. It has all-wheel drive (AWD) and a 2-speed automatic transmission. The car’s battery has a capacity of 93.4kWh, and the company claims it can travel around 420 kilometers on a single charge. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds.

When charging at 220/240 Volts, the EV takes 9 hours and 15 minutes to fully charge. However, this charging time is reduced to 1.5 hours when using 440 Volts.
