ISLAMABAD: Electricity prices are likely to drop by Rs 1.75 per unit for consumers across the country for the next three months, bringing relief to the public from the inflated bills.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted a request under the quarterly adjustment mechanism.
The request has been filed for the fourth quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year, and if approved, it could provide over Rs53.39 billion in relief to power consumers.

The quarterly adjustment will also apply to government-run DISCOs, including K-Electric.
NEPRA will hold a hearing on the CPPA’s petition on August 4.
If the adjustments for September, October, and November are approved, the relief could increase further up to Rs2.10 per unit for those months.
After the hearing, NEPRA will make the final decision regarding the revised power tariffs.
