Tarar says opposition declaration a joke, May 9 convictions on merit

Tarar terms opposition APC declaration a joke

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Attaullah Tarar on Friday said the declaration issued by the opposition’s All Parties Conference (APC) was a joke and added that those involved in May 9 attacks had been sentenced after a fair trial.

The opposition has no agenda except propaganda, Tarar said in video message, as he reacted to the press conference held after the APC where a joint declaration was shared.

Moreover, the federal minister said there were undeniable evidences of the May 9 attacks — for which the PTI leaders and workers are being convicted.

Failure is the destiny of PTI, he remarked and said that Pakistan would continue marching forward.

Tarar said the PTI during its government tenure had damaged Pakistan’s relations with friendly countries and the national economy.

He recalled how the PTI leaders and supporters were betting on when Pakistan would default and said the opposition could not befool the people.

REAL ESTATE AND POLITICS

Meanwhile, the federal minister also linked real estate and politics in his message.

Tarar said Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, who organised the APC, belonged to family with business interest in real estate [property] business. He must tell the nation about his family’s assets, the minister demanded.

At the same time, he also mentioned that the press conference shouldn’t have missed discussion on the 190-million-pound case in which their leader Imran Khan was convicted.

Meanwhile, Imran, the PTI founder, is also accused of masterminding the May 9 attacks.

ANOTHER ‘SABOTAGE ATTEMPT’

The federal minister also said that the PTI was used to sabotaging the visits of foreign dignitaries and noted that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian would arrive in Pakistan tomorrow (Saturday).

He was recalling how the PTI’s infamous 2014 sit-in had resulted in the postponement of Chinese President Xi Jinping, which delayed in the launching of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
