CCD in action: crime rate significantly fall across Punjab

LAHORE: The Crime Control Department (CCD) has achieved a notable reduction in crime across Punjab, including the provincial capital Lahore, according to a statement released by the Punjab Police.
Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar, praised the CCD’s performance, highlighting its success in suppressing serious crimes within a remarkably short period. A special ceremony was held to recognize the department’s efforts, during which Additional IGP CCD and other senior officials were awarded certificates of appreciation for their outstanding work.
“CCD has shown excellent performance in a very short time,” said IGP Dr Usman Anwar, adding, “The dedication and professionalism of the officers have contributed significantly to improving public safety across the province.” IGP Anwar urged officers to continue their duties with greater dedication and hard work.
Dr Usman Anwar spoke on the importance of modernising the CCD’s infrastructure, logistics, and human resources to enhance operational efficiency. He directed the CCD to establish a sustainable and comprehensive database of organised criminals, gangs, and proclaimed offenders to support long-term crime prevention and intelligence-based policing.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Police also confirmed that continued improvements to CCD operations are a top priority, ensuring that law enforcement agencies remain ahead of evolving criminal threats.
