LAHORE: Early morning showers in Lahore turned the weather pleasant in the provincial capital on Tuesday, as the PDMA predicted the next spell of monsoon rains from August 13 and issued a flood alert.
Rain has lashed Mall Road, Jail Road, Davis Road and surrounding areas while downpour was also reported in Mughalpura, Shalimar Link Road, and Dharampura.
The current temperature in Lahore is recorded at 29°C, while the maximum is expected to reach 34°C today. Humidity stands at 75 percent, with winds blowing at 8 km per hour, according to the Met Office.
In Sheikhupura, Hafizabad and surrounding areas, rain is expected at a few places.

According to the meteorological department, rain with gusty winds and thunderstorms is expected in some areas. Rain is also likely in Khuzdar, Zhob, Musakhel and adjoining regions.
The forecast predicts showers in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum and Attock. Rain is also expected in Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal and Kasur.
Coastal parts of Sindh, including Karachi, may also receive rainfall.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, showers are expected in Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Battagram, Haripur and Nowshera. A few places in Mansehra, Abbottabad and nearby areas may also see rain.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, the weather will remain hot and partly cloudy. In Azad Kashmir, gusty winds with thunderstorms and rain are expected.
PUNJAB TO GET NEW SPELL OF MONSOON RAINS
The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has predicted the next spell of monsoon rains from August 13 and issued a flood alert.
A PDMA spokesperson said advisories have been issued for the Sutlej, Ravi, Chenab and Jhelum rivers, along with nearby streams and nullahs, warning of possible flooding.
The authority cautioned that water levels in major rivers across Punjab may rise during the seventh spell of monsoon rains.
Commissioners, deputy commissioners and all relevant departments have been directed to stay on high alert. Departments placed on alert include local government, agriculture, irrigation, health, forests, livestock and transport.
