‘You’re a superstar’: Qaiser Nizamani’s touching message to Fazila Qazi

ISLAMABAD: After the government of Pakistan nominated veteran actress Fazila Qazi for the Sitara-i-Imtiaz in recognition of her artistic work, her husband and fellow actor Qaiser Nizamani penned an emotional note on social media.

Paying a glowing tribute to his wife, Nizamani wrote, “Today you received what you truly deserved. You are not just my wife but a superstar.”

He said that while the award is a matter of pride for the nation, for him it reflects the story of a lifelong struggle.

“I have witnessed Fazila’s tireless hard work and deep passion for her craft throughout her career,” he said.

Nizamani added that this was why he valued the award more than anyone else and extended heartfelt congratulations to his wife.

Earlier, Fazila Qazi also expressed her joy on Instagram, saying she would continue striving to deliver quality work in the showbiz industry. She thanked her fans for their prayers and love.

Fazila Qazi has been a prominent part of Pakistan’s entertainment industry for decades, showcasing her talent in both Urdu and Sindhi dramas.

She will formally receive the country’s third highest award on March 23, 2026.

During a TV show in 2024, Fazila Qazi had spoken about the process of granting Presidential Awards, saying that authorities often overlooked hardworking artists.

She remarked that awards were frequently given based on favouritism and connections rather than merit.

She had sarcastically said that she was thankful her husband received the honour at a time when recognition was still based on an artist’s work rather than influence.

After criticism from fans on social media, she had clarified that she was saying that the Cabinet Division sometimes failed to recognise artists who truly deserve the awards.
