ISLAMABAD: In an operation conducted by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and local administration, illegal constructions in Margalla Town, Islamabad, primarily occupied by Afghan nationals, were demolished. The operation, which aimed to reclaim illegally occupied land, saw some resistance from the illegal residents, leading to police intervention.
The CDA, responsible for urban planning and development in the federal capital, took a firm stance against unauthorized settlements in Margalla Town, a picturesque area nestled against the backdrop of the Margalla Hills. This operation was prompted by reports of illegal Afghan settlements in the Mohrian Mochi Mohra locality.

During the operation, bulldozers and CDA personnel were deployed to dismantle the structures, which had been established without proper permits or legal authorisation. The demolitions were met with resistance by some of the Afghan citizens living in the area.
The situation escalated as protestors voiced their discontent, leading to police intervention to maintain order and ensure the safety of all involved parties. The police dispersed the protestors to prevent any further confrontations during the operation.
Illegal land encroachments and unauthorised settlements have been a long-standing issue in various parts of Islamabad, leading to the displacement of residents and often causing tensions between the authorities and affected communities.
