Rehana Imtiaz Dar rebukes Usman Dar’s criticism of Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Rehana Imtiaz dar, the mother of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Dar has said that she did not agree with her son’s statement against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder and former prime minister Imran Khan.

Speaking to Hum News’ programme “Pakistan Tonight with Syed Samar Abbas”, Rehana Amtiaz said that she had no political ambitions, and that she did not agree with her son’s statement against the former chairman of PTI, Imran Khan. She said that she told her son to die rather than make a statement against Imran Khan.

Her statement comes almost two months after Usman Dar, had alleged that a planning for the events that led to the May 9 incidents was orchestrated under the leadership of the PTI chairman at his Zaman Park residence.

On October 4, 2023, in an interview on Dunya News, Dar had alleged that the PTI chairman himself issued directives to target sensitive installations.

Dar had alleged that PTI members like Hamad Azhar, Murad Saeed, Azam Swati, and Farrukh Habib were anti-military. They were also close to the PTI chairman, who directed the policy of confronting the military.

Rehana Imtiaz Dar said that she had always taught her children to stand by the truth, but that she did not accept the statement that her son made against Imran Khan. She said that 70 per cent of the people of Sialkot were with the former chairman of PTI.

On the other hand, talking to Hum News, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Khawaja Asif said that Rehana Amtiaz Dar was saying that her son was forced to give an interview. He asked why Usman Dar was still silent and did not admit this himself if he was coerced into giving an interview.
