
Interbank closing: PKR loses 11.05 paisa against USD

WEB DESK: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) experienced a slight depreciation of 11.05 paisa against the US dollar (USD) during Wednesday’s interbank trading session.
The local currency closed at PKR 278.51 per USD, down from the previous session’s close of PKR 278.4 per USD.
Throughout the session, the rupee saw an intraday high (bid) of 278.7 and a low (ask) of 278.5.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at PKR 279.03 for buying and PKR 281.00 for selling.
PKR’s performance against other currencies
UAE Dirham: The dirham appreciated by 2.9 paisa, moving from PKR 75.83 to PKR 75.80.
Japanese Yen: The rupee gained 0.54 paisa, closing at PKR 1.7247 compared to PKR 1.7301 in the previous session.
Euro: The rupee depreciated by 11.96 paisa, ending at PKR 301.29 versus PKR 301.17 from the prior session.
Chinese Yuan: The rupee saw a marginal loss of 0.53 paisa, closing at PKR 38.28.
Swiss Franc: The rupee appreciated by 64.13 paisa, finishing at PKR 310.47, up from PKR 309.83.
Saudi Riyal: The rupee gained 3.74 paisa, closing at PKR 74.26 from PKR 74.22 previously.
British Pound: The pound remained stable at PKR 356.41.
This depreciation against the USD and mixed performance against other major currencies reflect the ongoing volatility in the foreign exchange market.
