Pakistan to observe day of mourning tomorrow in solidarity with Palestinians

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan government has announced a day of mourning on Friday (tomorrow) in solidarity with the Palestinians and protest against Israeli brutality.

Funeral prayers in absentia for senior leader Ismail Haniyeh will also be held after Friday prayers.

A special resolution will also be presented in Parliament to express full solidarity with Palestine.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday strongly denounced the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, calling it a barbaric act that ruthlessly violated international laws and rules.

While chairing a meeting on the situation in Palestine, the Prime Minister stated that Ismail Haniyeh’s children and even his grandchildren had also been brutally martyred.

The meeting was attended by parliamentarians from the allied political parties of the government.
