Punjab to have Pakistan’s first artificial intelligence university

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz announced the establishment of Pakistan’s first Artificial Intelligence University in Nawaz Sharif IT City, Lahore.
The CM made this announcement while addressing a ceremony honouring position holders from the Punjab Boards.
“Artificial Intelligence University will offer higher education and provide IT skills that are in high demand worldwide,” said the CM.
Earlier this year, in March, the Chief Minister of Punjab granted approval for the IT City project, which spans 853 acres (6,824 kanals) near PKLI in Lahore.
She said that Punjab is launching a scholarship program with Rs25 billion, which will help talented students receive education at prestigious universities such as LUMS, IBA, COMSATS, FAST, and others.
CM Maryam further said that after acquiring these IT skills, young people will not have to wander aimlessly and they will find jobs quickly.
