WhatsApp to enhance video calls with new backgrounds, filters

WEB DESK: WhatsApp is set to roll out an exciting update in the coming weeks that will make video calls more engaging. The update will introduce ten new backgrounds and ten filters for both Android and iOS users, allowing you to customise your video call experience by changing the background or adding filters.

The available backgrounds will include options like Blur, Living Room, Office, Cafe, Pebbles, Foodie, Smoosh, Beach, Sunset, Celebration, and Forest. Meanwhile, the filters you can choose from are Warm, Cool, Black & White, Light Leak, Dreamy, Prism Light, Fisheye, Vintage TV, Frosted Glass, and Duo Tone.

In addition to backgrounds and filters, WhatsApp will also introduce two features—‘Touch Up’ and ‘Low Light.’ These options are designed to enhance your appearance and improve brightness during video calls, ensuring you look your best, even in dimly lit environments.

These new features will be available for both one-on-one and group video calls. To use them, simply tap the effects icon at the top right of your screen during a call to browse through the available backgrounds and filters.

With these updates, WhatsApp aims to make video calls more vibrant and enjoyable, giving users more control over their virtual environment.
