ANF seizes 65 kilograms of hashish, arrests six

ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan spokesperson reported on Thursday that 65 kg of hashish were seized and six people were arrested.
The drug bust is a result of various operations being carried out across Pakistan, including in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Faisalabad.
The operations are being conducted as part of a nationwide campaign to eliminate drug use in educational institutions that began in September.

In the latest bust, the ANF seized a total of 65 kilograms of drugs, with the largest amount being seized from a vehicle in Faisalabad, which contained 42 kilograms of hashish. Thirteen more kilograms were seized from a rickshaw near the Sangjani toll plaza in Islamabad. In Rawalpindi, nine kilograms of hashish were seized.
One suspect near an educational institution in Karachi was arrested with 308 grams of hashish.
The suspects admitted to selling drugs to students of the educational institutions. An ANF spokesperson stated that cases have been registered against the arrested suspects, and the subsequent investigations have begun.
In September, the ANF arrested ten individuals, seizing over 600 kilograms of illegal drugs. Worth over RS 80 million, in the process. The suspects were operating near educational institutions in Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Faisalabad, and Quetta.

Drug abuse among youth is a rising issue in Pakistan, and one of the driving forces behind the ANF’s campaign, which includes holding awareness sessions in educational instructions across the country.
