Man gets 25-year jail term for murdering sister-in-law

PESHAWAR: A Child Protection Court in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday sentenced a man to 25 years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs1 million for murdering his sister-in-law.
The trial, held in Peshawar’s Child Protection Court, focused on the killing of a woman on January 9, 2019, in the jurisdiction of Matani Police Station.

Prosecutors informed the court that the accused, Saif-ur-Rehman, had killed his sister-in-law following a verbal altercation.
After his arrest, the suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation.
Peshawar Child Protection Court Judge Muhammad Hanif sentenced the defendant to 25 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs1 million based on his confession.
The case had been registered at the request of the victim’s family.
