Pakistan to meet Sri Lanka in Hong Kong super sixes final


HONG KONG: In the first semi-final of the Hong Kong World Super Sixes tournament, Pakistan qualified for the final after defeating Australia.

In the first semi-final in the match played in Mong Kok, Australia scored 107 runs in the allotted 6 overs while batting first.

Aussie player Danbil Christian played an innings of 42 runs off 8 balls while Jack Wood was dismissed for 36 runs.

Jack Wood was the only wicket for Pakistan, taken by captain Faheem Ashraf.

Asif Ali conceded 37 runs in one over, which included 6 sixes and a wide ball.

In return, Pakistan achieved the needed target with the loss of two wickets. From the greens, Asif Ali managed to reverse the losses from his bowling spree and scored 32 runs off 8 balls. Mohammad Akhlaq added to the tally and scored 32 runs off 10 balls.

Ultimately, Pakistan paved its way to the finals with four wickets and one ball remaining.

Now, Pakistan will battle Sri Lanka in about 90 minutes for the title.
