US voices alarm over rising terrorism in Pakistan

WASHINGTON: The United States (US) Department of State Spokesperson, Matthew Miller, expressed ‘deep’ concern over the increasing number of terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
Miller condemned the militant attacks, talking about the profound impact of terrorism on the Pakistani public.
The spokesperson offered condolences to the families of the victims. “We extend our heartfelt sympathies to those affected by these acts of violence”.

The State Department spokesperson described the ongoing terrorist activities as reprehensible while stating that the US was ‘committed’ to assist Pakistan in its counter-terrorism efforts.
Miller stated that his country was dedicated to engaging in dialogue with Pakistani officials to effectively counter terrorism.
Current discussions focused on improving both, civilian and military capabilities to address the threats posed by the extremist groups.
