LAHORE: Punjab University has postponed scheduled exams for December 16 till December 18 without citing specific reasons for the decision.
A university spokesperson stated that the revised schedule for the postponed exams will be announced later.
The Punjab university had earlier also postponed its exams scheduled for November 25 for one week due to smog-related issues. The regular postponement of exams has caused a wave of concern amongst the students as it is impacting their academic activities.
Public and private schools and colleges in Islamabad and Punjab were closed on Monday, reportedly due to security concerns.

Notifications regarding the closures were issued by the district administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, as well as the Punjab government’s School Education Department.
While the notifications from Islamabad and Rawalpindi authorities did not specify the reason for the holiday, the Punjab School Education Department cited the “prevailing security situation” as the cause for shutting down educational institutions across the province.
District Education Authority Rawalpindi’s Amanullah Khan confirmed to Dawn News that the holiday notification had been received and circulated to all government and private schools. However, he stated, “We are not aware of the reason for the holiday.”
