ISLAMABAD: Members of the Parliament (MPs) have gotten a massive 200 per cent salary raise after the passage of ‘The Members of Parliament (Salaries and Allowances) (Amendment) Bill, 2025’.
Under the new amendment, MPs’ salaries and allowances have been aligned with those of federal secretaries, setting their monthly earnings at Rs519,000 for both MNAs and Senators.
Previously, MPs received a total salary of Rs188,000, which included a basic salary of Rs150,000 and allowances of Rs38,000. With this increase, their total monthly income will now rise to Rs519,000.
Interestingly, parliamentarians, including PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar had adopted a united stance on salary increase.
