Rain with thunderstorms expected in Islamabad and surrounding areas

ISLAMABAD: Rain has just begun in Islamabad with thunderstorms to soon follow in the capital and its surrounding areas, according to the Meteorological Department. Several regions across the country are likely to experience varying intensities of rainfall, with some areas bracing for heavy downpours, gusty winds, and even hail.
In Punjab, cities such as Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, and Sialkot may receive rain, while Muzaffargarh, Taunsa Sharif, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, and Bahawalpur could also see showers. Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Narowal, Hafizabad, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Rawalpindi, and Murree are among the areas where rainfall is anticipated.
Relief expected as new spell of rainfall enters country
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, and Mansehra. Other districts, including Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Waziristan, Kohat, Karak, and Lakki Marwat, may also experience wet weather. Meanwhile, Balochistan’s Zhob, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, and Lasbela are likely to receive rain, while coastal areas of Sindh could face dust-laden winds. The Met Office has warned that thunderstorms, strong winds, and isolated heavy rainfall may occur in multiple regions, urging residents to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
