Chinese coast guard says it ‘expelled’ Philippine coast guard ship


BEIJING: Chinese coast guard said on Monday it “expelled” a Philippine coast guard ship and vessels from waters adjacent to the Scarborough Shoal in the South China Sea, the Chinese state media reported.

The Shanghai Maritime Safety administration stated that military activities will be carried out in a part of East China Sea from 7:00 am on May 1 to 9:00 am on May 9 local time.

The maritime administration further stated that “vessels unrelated to the activity are prohibited from entering the area”
