US-Oman talks: US aiming to “avoid misunderstandings” with Iran
WASHINGTON: A senior United States (US) official on Tuesday stated that talks with Oman offered ‘useful forum’ to avoid misunderstandings with Iran.
The senior US official reported he also met with the new Palestinian Prime Minister. The two leaders discussed ‘aggressive’ reform agenda.

The US official also shared that the US “thinks Egypt should not be withholding aid from Gaza”.
Despite talks with the Arab countries regarding Gaza, the official also held discussions with Israel. He stated that discussions were held with Israel for the “ongoing hunt for leaders of Hamas”.
The US official also made “series of specific requests to Israel about how to ease humanitarian crisis in Gaza”, and “very detailed discussion […] about how to transition to stabilisation phase in Gaza”.

However, the official was quick to point out that “elements such as a credible pathway to Palestinian statehood still have to be completed”.
