RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were indicted in the alleged illegal nikhah case.
District and Sessions Court Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah heard the case in Adiala jail.
Initially, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi appeared in the court but their lawyers did not show up.
When the lawyers reached the court, Bushra Bibi left the court. Lawyer Usman Gill told the court that Bushra Bibi was not feeling well and she had left for hospital.
Judge Qudratullah asked if Bushra Bibi sought anyone’s permission to go out? He further remarked that there is a procedure to leave the court, you are a lawyer, don’t you know?
Judge Qudratullah asked lawyer Usman Gill, have you ever fulfilled any commitment? He further said that in the last hearing, he had issued arrest warrants, but took them back by trusting Latif Khosa.
It may be recalled that on Monday, the Islamabad High Court had sought a reply from Bushra Bibi’s former husband Khawar Maneka on a petition filed by Bushra Bibi in the alleged illegal nikah case.
Bushra Bibi had challenged the illegal marriage case in the Islamabad High Court.
On January 2, a local court in Islamabad had fixed January 10 for indictement of Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the alleged illegal nikah case.
However, on January 10 and later on January 11, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi could not be indicted, after which the court adjourned the hearing till January 15 (today).
