Israel has right to defend itself: German foreign ministry


The German foreign ministry on Monday said that Israel has “right to defend itself” and that international humanitarian law and its ‘obligations’ apply.

The German ministry also stated that it ‘respected’ International Criminal Court’s (ICC) independence and procedures like all other international courts.

The ministry went on to say that simultaneous application for arrest warrants against Hamas leaders and Israeli officials has created a ‘false’ impression of an equivalency.
