KSE-100 crosses 47000 barrier after 21 months


KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange’s (PSX) benchmark KSE-100 index crossed the 47,000 level for the first time in 21 months during the trading session on Thursday.

The market saw an increase of 421.96 points to reach 47,104.48 points.

Buying was witnessed across index-heavy sectors including automobiles, cement, chemical, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies and OMCs.

The IMF deal inked late last month is key to the development. According to Arif Habib Limited, “The market has gained 5,751 points (+13.9%) since staff level agreement with the IMF.”
