ISLAMABAD: In a meticulously planned and specifically targeted military operation, Pakistan has launched a series of strikes against terrorist hideouts in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan province. The mission, codenamed ‘Marg Bar Sarmchar’, has resulted in the elimination of numerous terrorists, according to a statement from the Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch.

The intelligence-based operation, executed with precision, underscores Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding its national security against all threats, as stated by the Foreign Office spokesperson. The successful conduct of this intricate mission also serves as a testament to the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces, further emphasised by the Foreign Office.

The operation was prompted by Pakistan’s consistent concerns about safe havens for self-proclaimed terrorists of Pakistani origin within Iran. Over the years, Pakistan has shared several dossiers containing concrete evidence of the presence and activities of these terrorists, expressing its worry about the lack of implementation of their concerns.

Despite diplomatic efforts, the terrorists, referred to as ‘Sarmachars,’ continued to pose a threat to innocent Pakistani lives. The decision to launch the operation was based on confirmed intelligence about large-scale terrorist activities by these groups, according to the Foreign Office spokesperson.

Pakistan reiterates its respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The spokesperson emphasised that the sole purpose of the operation was to protect Pakistan’s security and national interests, with no compromise allowed.

“As a responsible member of the international community, Pakistan upholds the principles and objectives of the United Nations Charter. We will never allow our sovereignty and territorial integrity to be challenged under any circumstances,” affirmed the spokesperson.

Acknowledging Iran as a brotherly country, the spokesperson expressed the Pakistani people’s respect and love for their Iranian counterparts. Despite the military action, Pakistan remains committed to dialogue and cooperation to address common challenges, including the shared goal of combating terrorism.

“We will continue to seek a common solution through diplomatic means,” concluded the spokesperson. The operation reflects Pakistan’s determination to take all necessary measures for the safety and security of its people while maintaining its diplomatic ties with Iran.
