ISLAMABAD: In a move aimed at strengthening trade relations between Russia and Pakistan, the Russian ambassador to Pakistan, Danila Ganich, has put forth a proposal for an independent payment mechanism. Ambassador Ganich made this announcement during his address at a seminar titled “Pakistan-Russia Relations and the Way Ahead”, held in Islamabad.

In addition to trade matters, Ambassador Ganich commended Russia’s support for Pakistan’s stance against Islamophobia, asserting that it is vital to respect all religions. He also took the opportunity to criticize Western nations for advocating absolute freedom of speech, even when it risks polarizing society.
The proposal for an independent payment system is expected to provide a more streamlined and secure avenue for trade between the two nations, further solidifying the foundation of their diplomatic and economic partnership.
