55 per cent drop in car sales in Pakistan

The automobile industry of Pakistan experienced a severe blow this year as car sales in the country fell by up to 55 per cent, it was revealed in a report issued by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA).

According to the same report, motorcycle sales took a substantial hit, dropping to 35 per cent this year. 

The report further reveals that tractor and truck sales recorded a decrease of 46 per cent during the year, while bus sales saw a decline of up to 6 per cent.

The sales of passenger cars were the most affected. Additionally, there was a 29 per cent decrease in the sales of utility vans, pickups, and jeeps.
