Interbank closing: PKR depreciates by 9.03 paisa against USD

WEB DESK: In Thursday’s interbank session, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 9.03 paisa against the US dollar (USD), closing at PKR 278.39 per USD compared to the previous session’s closing rate of PKR 278.30.
During the trading session, the rupee experienced an intraday high of PKR 278.50 and a low of PKR 278.30.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at PKR 277.18 for buying and PKR 279.59 for selling.
PKR’s performance against other currencies:
British Pound (GBP): The British pound appreciated by 29.63 paisa, closing at PKR 355.87, up from PKR 355.57 the previous day.
Euro (EUR): The rupee lost 8.43 paisa against the euro, closing at PKR 302.72 compared to PKR 302.64 in the prior session.
Swiss Franc (CHF): The Swiss franc gained 11.86 paisa, closing at PKR 311.90, an increase from PKR 311.79.
Chinese Yuan (CNY): The yuan saw a marginal gain of 0.5 paisa, maintaining its value at PKR 38.41.
Japanese Yen (JPY): The rupee appreciated by 0.23 paisa against the yen, closing at PKR 1.7805 compared to PKR 1.7828 the previous day.
U.A.E Dirham (AED): The dirham increased by 2.66 paisa, closing at PKR 75.77, up from PKR 75.79.
Saudi Riyal (SAR): The riyal gained 2.41 paisa, closing at PKR 74.23 compared to PKR 74.20 the day before.
This depreciation of the rupee highlights the ongoing volatility in the currency market, with fluctuations observed across various foreign currencies.
