WEB DESK: In a significant development for Hajj pilgrims, it has been announced that the cost of Hajj is expected to decrease in 2024, despite the challenges posed by the expensive US dollar.
Authorities have decided to maintain an affordable Hajj package, anticipating a reduction of up to Rs100,000 from the costs incurred in the previous year, which amounted to Rs1,175,000.
The revised Hajj policy, incorporating two amendments proposed by private Hajj tour operators, is currently under review by the federal cabinet.
The policy is poised for approval during a meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
Under the revised policy, children below 10 years of age will now have the opportunity to participate in Hajj, addressing a demand from private tour operators.

Additionally, pilgrims above 80 years of age will be permitted to be accompanied by a helper.
Hajj applications under the government scheme are expected to be accepted starting this month, as per the latest developments.
This move is part of a concerted effort to make the Hajj pilgrimage more accessible and affordable for a broader range of participants.
