Alibaba rolls out logistics service to help Pakistani exporters go global

Alibaba

ISLAMABAD: Alibaba.com has launched a new set of online logistics tools designed to make life easier for Pakistani exporters trying to tap into international markets.

The platform, one of the world’s largest for business-to-business e-commerce, says the service aims to remove long-standing hurdles that have made global shipping difficult, especially for smaller businesses. That includes problems with packaging, warehousing, customs paperwork, delivery delays, and lack of shipment tracking.

With global e-commerce growing quickly, Pakistani exporters, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), are looking to expand abroad. But many lack the logistics support and infrastructure needed to compete on a global scale.

To fill that gap, Alibaba.com has teamed up with leading international couriers to help local exporters ship to more than 200 countries. The service combines every step of the logistics process and includes tools for real-time tracking and customs assistance to make sure shipments arrive on time and meet import rules.

“Logistics remains one of the biggest challenges in cross-border trade,” said Summer Gao, Head of Global Supply Chain at Alibaba.com. “Our new solutions are built to help SMEs cut costs, speed up deliveries, and better compete in the international market.”

The move is part of Alibaba’s broader push to expand in emerging markets and support exporters with digital tools and scalable infrastructure.
