BYD, Audi, JAC, and others announce repair offers for storm-damaged vehicles

Audi repair offer

ISLAMABAD: After a sudden and devastating hailstorm battered parts of Islamabad on Wednesday afternoon, causing widespread destruction—particularly in the northwestern sectors—several major auto companies have stepped forward to assist affected vehicle owners.

The intense storm, which brought torrential rains, strong winds, and large hailstones, inflicted serious economic losses. It damaged solar energy infrastructure, private vehicles, and residential properties, while also disrupting power supply and mobility across the capital.

Among the hardest-hit assets were solar carports—charging stations for electric vehicles—which saw their photovoltaic panels shattered and steel frames bent. These structures, part of Islamabad’s drive towards sustainable transport, were left inoperable. Initial estimates suggest losses running into tens of millions of rupees for both public and private operators.

As residents in Islamabad and Rawalpindi begin recovering, automobile manufacturers are offering relief packages for those whose vehicles were damaged in the storm.

Following the lead of Changan and Haval, other companies including Hyundai, JAC, BYD, Kia, and Audi have introduced special after-sales service packages to ease the burden of expensive repairs.

Hyundai

Hyundai Pakistan announced notable support measures for its customers. “Hyundai remains committed to supporting our customers through every challenge,” the company said in a social media post. “We’re offering 50 per cent off on labour, 10 per cent off on spare parts, and immediate parts availability to support affected customers.”

BYD

BYD Pakistan also extended support through its official Facebook page, stating, “Caught in the storm? We’ve got you covered.” The company is offering free damage assessments and repair support for affected BYD owners, with the offer valid until Tuesday, April 22. “Your peace of mind matters as much as the drive,” the post added.

JAC

JAC Motors Pakistan is offering a 50 per cent discount on hailstorm-related repairs, including damage to windscreens, rear screens, and sunroofs for JAC T9 Hunter owners. “The storm was unexpected. But your support system isn’t,” the company said, adding that the offer is valid until April 25.

Kia

Kia Motors Pakistan is providing a 45 per cent discount on repairs for all Kia vehicles damaged in the storm. In a statement, the company said, “Fulfilling Kia’s promise to care, we are offering a 45 per cent subsidised rate for repairs to all Kia vehicles damaged by the hailstorm in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Please visit the following Kia authorised dealerships to avail this discount.”

Audi

Luxury automaker Audi Pakistan has also stepped up. In a post, the company said:
“Hail may strike Rawalpindi and Islamabad—but Audi drivers? They remain unshaken.
Wrapped in the mastery of German engineering, an Audi is more than a car—it’s a fortress of elegance and resilience.
To honour our Audi family, we’re introducing a limited-time bespoke hail repair benefit.
Let us restore your Audi’s form with the precision it was crafted with. Visit Audi Islamabad Service Centre.
Because at Audi, the storm doesn’t stop us—it sets the stage for excellence.”

The hailstorm left streets in sectors including G-5, G-7, G15, D-17, D-12, E-11, G-11, and F-10 strewn with shattered glass, broken tree branches, and mangled solar panel frames.

Unfortunately, forecasts suggest another hailstorm may strike in the coming days, with some reports indicating a likelihood of further severe weather as early as tonight.
