Aurangzeb meets foreign investors to discuss opportunities, reforms

Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue met with a delegation of international investors, led by Amin Mohammad Khowaja, CEO, J.P. Morgan Pakistan.
The talks between the two centred on institutional investors and on exploring fixed-income investment opportunities in Pakistan.
“The discussions covered a range of potential investment areas, including renewable energy, information technology, infrastructure development, and the financial sector,” the minister said in a statement.
He said the investors were interested in the said sectors and recognise Pakistan as a market that has immense potential, adding that the country’s strategic location served as a gateway to regional markets where investors were keen to explore investment opportunities in diverse sectors.
The Finance Minister also highlighted government’s plans for structural reforms including broadening the tax base, rightsizing the public sector, privatising government entities, as well as bringing energy sector reforms.
He assured the delegation full cooperation in facilitating their investment ventures and appreciated their interest in contributing to the country’s growth through promoting a business-friendly environment.
