Banks open on Saturday, Sunday to facilitate Hajj 2024 applications

WEB DESK: To simplify the process for individuals intending to embark on Hajj in 2024 and submit their application forms along with payments, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has directed 15 banks to extend the operating hours of specific branches on both Saturday and Sunday.

These branches will be operational from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on December 9 and 10, 2023, which falls on a Saturday and Sunday, across the country.

According to a recent press release from the Exchange Communication Department (ECD), the SBP has taken this step at the request of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.

This action is part of the larger plan outlined in the Hajj Policy. The Ministry had already authorized the 15 banks to collect application forms and payments from those planning to go on Hajj in 2024.

The collection period started on November 27, 2023, and will continue until December 12, 2023, covering the entire nation.

The 15 designated banks include National Bank of Pakistan, Habib Bank, United Bank, MCB Bank, Allied Bank, Bank of Punjab, Bank Alfalah, Zarai Taraqiati Bank, Faysal Bank, Askari Bank, Bank Al-Habib, Habib Metropolitan Bank, Soneri Bank, Meezan Bank, and Bank Islami.

Prospective pilgrims are encouraged to use these extended banking hours to ensure a smooth submission process for their Hajj applications.
