KARACHI: The outgoing week saw the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) post consistent losses after Monday’s growth, up till the closing of the week on Friday. The benchmark KSE-100 index closed the week on a positive note, above 78,000 points.

Today the index opens at 78,225.98 points. Last week, the index went through massive fluctuations, recording more losses than gains. Change in monetary policy lent some strength to the index, only to be squandered by the pressures from eroding foreign exchange reserves.
With continued political instability and uncontrolled inflation, the index continues to stay volatile. Whether the bourse will be able to maintain investor confidence today remains to be seen.
