Cement sales slump by 14.79% in January

ISLAMABAD: The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association reported that overall cement sales experienced a 14.79 per cent decline in January 2024 compared to the same period last year.

According to statistics from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, the total cement sales for January 2024 reached 3.414 million tons, a decrease from 4.006 million tons in January 2023.

The domestic market reflected a substantial decline, with January 2024 domestic sales recorded at 2.967 million tons, marking a 17.30 per cent reduction compared to the 3.588 million tons sold in January 2023. Despite the overall decrease, there was a silver lining in the export sector.

In January 2024, cement exports reached 446,595 tons, showcasing a 6.82 per cent increase from the 418,067 tons exported in January of the previous year.
