WEB DESK: In a significant move towards enhancing financial market development, Pakistan and China delved into detailed discussions on Friday regarding potential collaborations between the China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX) and the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The talks aimed to bolster innovative financial instruments within Pakistan.
The Ministry of Information reported that the focal point of the discussions was a meeting between Pakistan’s Finance Minister, Muhammad Aurangzeb, and You Hang, the Chief Representative of CFFEX.
The meeting underscored the mutual commitment to fostering cooperation and exploring fresh opportunities to fortify Pakistan’s financial markets and investment landscape.
Finance Minister Aurangzeb underscored the government’s dedication to implementing reforms aimed at refining the regulatory framework, augmenting market transparency, and nurturing a dynamic and robust financial sector within Pakistan.
Moreover, Aurangzeb highlighted the pivotal role of strategic partnerships with international financial institutions and exchanges, citing CFFEX as a key ally in realising these objectives and advancing the country’s financial market infrastructure.
You Hang, representing CFFEX, expressed fervent interest in collaborating with PSX and other stakeholders to unleash new financial products, share technical expertise, and facilitate cross-border investment between China and Pakistan.
He reiterated CFFEX’s steadfast commitment to bolstering Pakistan’s financial markets and fostering economic prosperity.
The meeting concluded with both parties resolving to delve deeper into potential areas of collaboration, foster knowledge exchange, and formulate actionable strategies to fortify Pakistan’s financial markets.
