Chicken prices take a dip, eggs soar high in Lahore

LAHORE: Over the past three days, the price of chicken meat has witnessed a significant reduction in Lahore, with a decline of Rs 18 per kilogram. The latest drop in price occurred today, with broiler chicken meat becoming Rs 7 cheaper per kilogram, bringing the retail price down to Rs 577 per kg.

Stock market maintains momentum, adds over 500 points

The wholesale rate of live broiler chicken has also seen a decline. As of today, the wholesale price stands at Rs 385 per kg, a reduction of Rs 4, while the retail price has been set at Rs 398 per kg, reflecting a Rs 5 decrease.

In contrast, the price of farm eggs has seen a slight increase, with the cost per dozen rising by Rs 1 to Rs 300. In other cities across the country, the price of chicken meat remains significantly higher, ranging between Rs 650 and Rs 720 per kilogram. This disparity highlights the unusual and sharp decline in prices observed in Lahore over the past few days.
