Changan reveals pricing, booking details for Deepal EVs in Pakistan

KARACHI: Master Changan Motors Limited has introduced a new electric vehicle (EV) brand in Pakistan, officially launching the Deepal L07 sedan and Deepal S07 SUV during a ceremony at Dolmen Mall on Friday.

The vehicles, which mark the company’s entry into the local EV market, are now available for pre-booking. The starting price for the Deepal L07 sedan is set at Rs15.5 million, while the Deepal S07 SUV begins at Rs16.5 million.

In addition to the vehicle launch, Master Changan Motors revealed plans to invest $50 million in developing Pakistan’s EV value chain.

This investment will include the establishment of a nationwide charging infrastructure. The company also disclosed that local CKD (Completely Knocked Down) manufacturing of these vehicles could commence within the next eight to ten months.

Deepal L07

The Deepal L07 sedan boasts impressive performance specifications, powered by an engine that delivers 250 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. Its 66.8 kWh battery offers a substantial driving range of up to 540 km on a single charge, ample for a journey between Lahore and Islamabad. The battery can be charged from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in just 35 minutes, and the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.

Deepal S07

Similarly, the Deepal S07 SUV provides robust performance with a 250 horsepower engine and 320 Nm of torque. It also features a 66.8 kWh battery, providing a driving range of up to 485 km. The battery charges from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in 35 minutes, and the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
