Dewan Motors enters partnership to manufacture electric cars in Pakistan

KARACHI: Dewan Farooque Motors Limited (DFML) has announced a significant partnership with ECO-Green Motors Limited (EGML) to manufacture EGML’s Honri-VE electric vehicles, boasting ranges of 200 km and 300 km.

This collaboration positions DFML as a leading manufacturer of electric vehicles (EVs) in Pakistan.

DFML plans to commence production of the 300 km range electric vehicles within the next two to three months, aiming to cater to the growing demand for eco-friendly transportation.

As global trends shift towards modern electric vehicles, DFML’s initiative reflects a strategic move to offer sustainable alternatives amidst rising petrol prices in Pakistan.

The production is slated to begin in August 2024, according to an announcement made by DFML through the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.

In a related development, DFML disclosed that it has resumed commercial production of the “Special Purpose KIA Commercial Vehicle,” marketed under the name KIA ‘SHEHZORE’. The rollout and launch ceremony for this vehicle is scheduled for June 4, 2024.
