KARACHI: Dewan Farooque Motors Limited (DFML) has started assembling a new batch of electric vehicles with an extended range of 300 kilometres, marking a fresh step forward in its partnership with Eco-Green Motors Limited (EGML).
The company shared the update in a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday. The latest development builds on DFML’s earlier agreement to manufacture 200km-range EVs for Eco-Green.
“We are pleased to inform you that in addition to the 200km range electric vehicles, DFML has now commenced manufacturing and assembly of 300km range electric vehicles for Eco-Green Motors Limited,” the notice read.
The announcement sparked positive movement in the stock market, with DFML’s share price rising by Re0.72 to reach Rs36.89 by mid-day.
Just a day earlier, the company reported it had successfully assembled over 300 units of the Chinese electric vehicle model ‘Honri-VE’ at its assembly plant during the first ten months of EV operations.
DFML had kicked off production of the Honri-VE in September 2024 after receiving clearance from the Engineering Development Board (EDB). The move followed toll manufacturing agreement inked in June last year with EGML, under which DFML produces vehicles using designs and components provided by Eco-Green.
DFML, which was incorporated in Pakistan as a public limited company in December 1998, is involved in assembling, progressively manufacturing, and selling vehicles across the country.
