Dollar registers marginal gain against rupee

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday reported a marginal gain by the US dollar against the Pakistani rupee.

In a post shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the US dollar edged up by just 1 paisa, closing the business day at Rs279.42. This slight increase contrasts with its previous closure at Rs279.41 on Monday.

SBP announces public holiday

Meanwhile, the SBP announced a public holiday on February 8 in light of the upcoming general elections scheduled on same date. With the nation preparing for the election, the central bank will remain close for the day.
