In a recent update, IESCO announced the retrieval of Rs80.83 million from defaulters, alongside the registration of 1186 FIRs and the detention of 994 individuals in Adiala Jail.

Chairing a crucial meeting at the Commissioner’s Office, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Aamir Khattak stressed the urgency of achieving a 100 per cent recovery rate from power defaulters.

Ahead of Eidul Fitr, he stressed uninterrupted power supply across the Rawalpindi division, including Murree, urging heightened security measures and contingency plans.

Acknowledging IESCO’s commendable performance, Commissioner Khattak directed deputy commissioners to vigilantly monitor power theft, particularly in commercial areas.

Meanwhile, IESCO reaffirmed its commitment to the government’s directive, continuing its crackdown on electricity thieves.

Since September 7, 2023, IESCO’s detection teams have inspected 300,000 meters, uncovering 5,182 cases of tampering.

To deter future infractions, fines totaling Rs286.6 million have been imposed, holding perpetrators accountable for misappropriating approximately 6 million units of electricity.

These concerted efforts underscore a determined commitment to safeguarding electrical infrastructure and ensuring equitable access to electricity across the Rawalpindi division.
