Family of smugglers: father, son, and daughter-in-law arrested for drug trafficking

KARACHI: In a recent development, the Karachi Police apprehended a family trio consisting of a father, son, and daughter-in-law, all implicated in inter-provincial drug trafficking.

Despite the persistent crackdown on smuggling activities nationwide, law enforcement successfully seized 17 kilogrammes of hashish that had been transported to Karachi from Hub.

As per the police report, the arrested family, engaged in drug peddling, acquired the narcotics from Turbat, Balochistan, utilising a bus for transportation.

Their journey led them to the bus terminal near Baldia Yousuf Goth Hub River Road.

From there, they intended to distribute the illicit substances to the Malir area via a rickshaw.

According to Express News, upon intercepting and searching the rickshaw near Siemens Chowrangi, the police discovered 20 packets of high-quality hashish.

This operation underscores the authorities’ continued efforts to curb drug-related activities within the region.
