FBR grants deadline extension for sales tax, excise filings

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for submitting sales tax and federal excise returns for February 2025.

Taxpayers now have until March 27 to file their returns, following an earlier deadline of March 18.

In an official notification, the FBR confirmed the extension, which was made under Section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, and Section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005.

According to FBR officials, the extension aims to assist taxpayers who are encountering difficulties in meeting the original deadline. This measure is intended to help them avoid penalties and ensure timely compliance.
