First Pakistani meat firm qualifies for direct export to Carrefour UAE

Pakistani meat direct export

ISLAMABAD: The Organic Meat Company Limited (TOMCL) has become the first Pakistani meat producer to secure direct export approval to Carrefour (Majid Al-Futtaim Hypermarkets LLC) across the United Arab Emirates, marking a significant breakthrough in Pakistan’s halal meat export industry.

Last week, the company secured export orders from Tajikistan valued at $3.24 million, to be executed during the current fiscal year. In June, it became the first Pakistani meat firm to secure export orders from Europe.

According to a material disclosure filed with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), TOMCL achieved this milestone after successfully passing Carrefour’s stringent systems, hygiene, and operational excellence audit with an impressive score of 94.89%.

The audit measured compliance with international food safety and operational standards across the company’s entire production chain.

With this approval, TOMCL is now listed as an authorised vendor across Carrefour’s UAE retail network, a move expected to significantly expand the company’s export volume and visibility in high-value Middle Eastern markets.

“This accomplishment reflects TOMCL’s unwavering commitment to international quality, traceability, and food safety standards,” the company said in a statement.

“We are proud to represent Pakistan in the global halal meat industry and become a benchmark for compliance and excellence.”

TOMCL’s entry into Carrefour’s vendor network opens new doors for the company, including higher export volumes, premium product listings, and broader brand recognition in both retail and foodservice sectors across the Gulf.

The company credited the support of Carrefour UAE and MAF Hypermarkets Pakistan, alongside its own compliance and technical teams, for the achievement.

TOMCL said the development would not only boost its global expansion but also enhance Pakistan’s reputation as a reliable supplier of high-quality, certified halal meat.

“This is not just a milestone for TOMCL, but a proud moment for Pakistan,” the statement added.
