Further downturn feared in stock market amidst political turmoil

KARACHI: After posting recovery on Wednesday and for a brief period on Thursday, the Pakistan stock Exchange (PSX) turned negative again, and lost nearly a 1,000 points through the day.
The benchmark KSE-100 index declined by 927.67 points on Thursday, closing the session at 78,469.33 points, down from the opening 79,397 points.

Throughout the day, the index fluctuated within a range of 1,446.37 points, with an intraday high of 79,776.95 points and lowest at 78,330.58 points.
Today, on the final trading session of the week, the index opens amidst political turmoil again, with fears of further downturn.
