WEB DESK: Parts of Balochistan are set to experience a six-hour gas load-shedding on Sunday, March 10, as the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) undertakes necessary repair work on a pipeline.
The announcement was made by the SSGCL on Saturday.
The affected areas include Quetta, Mastung, Kalat, Kuchlak, Ziarat, Sariab, Hazarganji, Nawa Kili, Mari Abad, and other surrounding regions. Gas supply to these areas will be temporarily suspended from 10am to 4pm on the specified date.
The SSGCL expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by this temporary gas closure and urged customers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements for alternative means during the specified time period.
This development follows the recent announcement by the SSGC regarding a “load-shedding marred” gas supply during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the statement released by the company, gas will only be available between 3:00am to 9:00am (Sahar) and 3:00pm to 10:00pm (Iftaar) during Ramadan. Consumers in Sindh and Balochistan will have access to gas for a total of 13 hours.
In response to potential power disruptions during Sahar and Iftar timings, Chief Minister Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, has directed electricity distribution companies not to carry out load-shedding.
This directive was issued during a meeting chaired by the chief minister, focusing on price control measures during Ramadan.
